Is Spanking Biblical Part 2

So this morning I saw a photo that enraged me, of course it was on Facebook and all sorts of people with different opinions were posting comments. I could not believe some of the comments I read, and how misused Bible verses are. People are using the Bible to justify not just swats but actual BEATINGS. Makes me sick.

Is Spanking Biblical?

Discipline, to spank or not to spank, that is the question. I think as parents most of us struggle with punishment and correction. Kids are not born with instructions, I mean really the baby pops out and there is no instruction sheet to be found! Or is there?

Short n Sweet - Discovery

So I have talked before about seeing the world through the eyes of a boy. Well my little guy is now 21 months old and discovering everything. I still find myself in awe of the fact that he is here, it is a dream come true. So amazing.....

The Kitchen Floor Needs Mopped

When we date we flirt, we act cute, we dress nice, we bat our eyelashes at our guys, we laugh at jokes, we lean in for the impromptu kiss, we gaze into his eyes, we hang on his every word while smiling and touching his arm. We get married, we have a lot of fun for a few months, and then home life sets in and we have kids and our focus changes. We still love each other dearly, perhaps more than ever before, but our relationship dynamic changes.

Be Thankful

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15

How many times in this one week have I said thank you to my husband for doing something for me? How many times have I given him an INTENTIONAL thank you and not just an auto response? ONCE.  Yes you read that correctly. ONCE. I feel ashamed.
Tuesday evening rolled around and my husband unloaded the dishwasher and did the supper dishes. It occurred to me to say thank you, I actually struggled with that.

Wash the car, the Laundry can Wait!

Often times after we have been married to someone for awhile women tend to forget to be attractive to their husbands, we forget to flirt, to be sexy if you will. I am guilty of this. On the weekends I do loads and loads of laundry,  I will run around in sweats, yoga pants, tank tops with snot and oatmeal smeared on them and so on. At nap time I might take a shower but then again I might fold the laundry and clean the toilets while the baby snoozes. More then likely it will be the latter. I spend time making a big meal for the afternoon, I pull my hair in a ponytail and go outside to play. I forget what sexy even is! Men are visual creatures, including my man!

All in the eyes of a Boy

Brought this over from my other blog, written this past spring:

I have never been much for the Oklahoma great outdoors, the heat is so great and heavy. When I was young I got heatstroke a few times and that really ruined my love of the sunshine along with other childhood memories, many of which give me an emotional bad reaction to the sunshine. For years I could not open up my windows to let the breeze and sunlight in. Due to horrible memories you can forget about opening windows and spraying Lysol or Pinesol, I become emotionally unstable if someone mixes those smells. I prefer rain! When the rain is warm, it is time to go outside and play and I open windows then! Harmful emotional associations are a powerful thing!

Does the Bible say I have to be a stay at home wife/mom?

A few months ago I had an interesting conversation with a woman that is very special to me that got me thinking about the roll of a woman and whether or not it is Biblical for women to work away from the home and if all Godly women are supposed to be stay at home moms and wives.  In pondering this I have had several conversations with other women about this subject. Many women have a very narrow one sided view on the subject in one extreme or the other. So I set out to examine this subject and find out for myself what I believe based on the Bible.
